How economic theory is disentangles with the social actors that drive it.

Sidelining politics, history and broader ideas while teaching economics, as most professors do, is like studying the “natural” flows of water in the Netherlands without taking into account that there are people living there who are steering it, building dikes, reclaiming land and channelling the water – and ignoring that they have been doing this for thousands of years already. You can’t study the system while ignoring the people who make it.

Multiverse measure problem in cosmology

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Measure_problem_(cosmology)

Yet another concept of cosmology that I was not aware of.

In a multiverse where there are infinite (yes, infinite) universes, we can’t measure how often one kind of universe dominates over others, i.e. we have no way of assessing which kind of infinite a set of multiverses lives on.

There is no way to asses that because depending on how we “measure” the set, the comparison between sets will give different ratios of infinities.

All in all, it all depends on how infinite our finite Universe is. Paradox intended.

Zambia, a country little known in here.

The article talks about the past government changes, how the country was as an oasis for freedom fighting against white dominated regimes in South Africa and Namibia. Also talks about the current government and how it went into vanity projects financed by high dept, which will be difficult to repay.

Zambia also had a British origin president for a while, but who was against withe interests on the ex-british protectorate.
